Anyway, we have a new story coming out. It’s another from Abi, called Nil’s Shroud. If you liked Virtua Pop because of the visceral focus on the feeling of having one’s lung perforated, then you’ll love this. Of course it’s got the heart, the smooches, the fixation on music as a grounding device to counteract the destructive overstimulation of modern life… but mostly it’s got mutilation and 80s-style exploitation.

But what’s the situation? Imagine you’re a hot young model, with a place on an agency shelf, steady jobs coming in, you even get to keep your own eyes. Now imagine someone shoots you in the face. You don’t die, so you want to get revenge, but it turns out that whoever booked the shooting also arranged for a 24-hour full-body livestream to be shoved inside your head, so a gallery of sickos could watch and cheer as you take a spanner to the knees of every clue and lead you can catch up to. I won’t explain the title, you’ll pick it up pretty quick once you start reading.

Anyway, Nil’s Shroud will be available to purchase on our Itch, Gumroad and Payhip from the 4th of November – right as most of the creeps you’re reading are starting to pack away their ‘spooky’ chintz – though rumour has it you can get early access by signing up to our mailing list

Oh, and in case you’re not on the list already, here’s the cover:

The cover of Nil's Shroud by Abi Vasquez. The image is noisy and distorted by mostly comprises a bundle of wires and an adjustable spanner. In the upper portion is white text with a pink shadow, which reads: "Nil's Shroud, a story by Abi Vasquez"

Get buzzed, creeps.
